Halsey is a young relatively new artist, who released her first album; Room 93 back in 2014 with the hits Is There Somewhere, Ghost, and Hurricane, my personal favorite being Ghost. Her second album premiered with the hit singles New Americana and Colors from the album Badlands that came out last year. Her new album hopeless fountain kingdom featuring 16 songs with the most listened to songs being Prologue, 100 Letters and Bad at Love being released earlier this year. She is currently on tour celebrating the release of hopeless fountain kingdom playing concerts all around North America.
Halsey is 23 years old and an open bisexual and has woven her sexuality in her music as a supporter of the LGBT+ community. In recent music, Hasey has integrated messages into her music, with the importance of talking about LGBT+ relationships and with feminist lyrics, and even the mention of toxic relationships. Halsey's name is a reference to the Halsey Street station of the New York City Subway in Brooklyn where she spent much time as a teenager, and an anagram of her first name Ashley. Along with more talents plays the violin, viola, and cello. She was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at the age of 17 after a suicide attempt and spent about 2 weeks in rehab afterward, and later on got kicked out of home after dropping out of college. After performing in multiple small gigs under multiple names until she settled on Halsey. After releasing the song Ghost after getting out of a toxic relationship she got multiple record deals and settled on Astralwerks because she felt that they gave her the most freedom. Even with all her struggles, she is currently on tour for her third album and will continue her career in music for a long time. by Isabel Uribe Hernandez & Rocio Vidana
