Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, mainly known by his stage name “Logic”, has recently become very popular (although he was well known before) with his hit single 1-800-273-8255, in which he collaborated with Alessia Cara and Khalid. In his album, Logic discusses mental health, anxiety, suicide, depression, and so much more. He brings up the topics that most people generally don’t talk about, some that people might even consider “taboo” topics. Logic expresses these topics in his lyrics and makes sure that they are Genuine, Authentic, and From The Heart.
Logic is all about spreading positive messages. On The Ellen Show he stated “I was scared to even talk about this entire album. Because not just this song, but everything I’ve said is the fight for equality of every man, woman and child. Regardless of race, religion, color, creed, and sexual orientation. Period.” Logic is very brave for incorporating these topics into his music. As Alessia Cara stated, “these things are real.” People suffer and go through this stuff and both Alessia and Logic want to let people around the world that they are not alone. Every life matters. The rising artist Logic talks about how many rappers just rap about themselves. To set himself apart from the ordinary, he started rapping in different perspectives in his album Everybody. As I stated above, he raps about suicide, depression, mental health, and those are just some of the topics. He was very serious about this, and he doesn’t sugarcoat it; when he raps, he keeps it real. Logic doesn’t lie and say that the process was easy breezy; he makes sure to get the message of hardship and difficulty to find the willpower to keep going and fighting across. Logic’s whole album embodies positivity. He’s not looking for fame, but wants to create a message about humanity through music to reach everybody and say, YOU ARE NOT ALONE. So, remember his motto and say it with me, “PEACE, LOVE, AND POSITIVITY.” by Taylor Yang
