If Mr.Sakihara was a student here at Computech he would join the gamer club because in his own words “The gamers club sound pretty cool because they meet up and play video games.” If you could make any type of club about something that interests you what type of club would you make? Mr.Sakihara says if he could make any type of club here at Computech he would make a health and science club. Have you always wanted to teach or is this something you decided as you got older? “I didn’t even know that Computech existed, until one day I randomly picked for a sub job here. It was next to Gaston, so I figured it would be terrible, and when I got here it was like the greatest thing I had ever seen. Once I came I knew that I wanted to teach.” What inspires you to teach your students and why does it inspire you? The thing that inspires Mr.Sakihara is the fact that there are a lot of uneducated, ignorant people who don’t really take other people into consideration with their actions, so he believes that education can really help somebody develop with those things. What has been your favorite part about working at Computech this year? Mr.Sakihara believes that the students are the best part about working at Computech. He thinks that they make it worth coming to work everyday. What is your New Year's resolution this year? His New Year's resolution for 2018 is to get back into athletic shape. Being the teacher for Journalism, what would you say has been your favorite part of the newspaper? His favorite part has been just to watch it grow into what it is today. What was your first job or other jobs that you’ve had? Has this job influenced your idea to become a teacher, and if so, why? His first job was working as a waiter in the Yoshino's at Riverpark. He says that job definitely inspired him to be a teacher because he always knew he wanted to try subbing. Mini Bio - Mr. Sakihara is our journalism/tech teacher here at Computech. He’s well known by a lot of students for his entertaining lessons and ability to teach you something important and yet still make you laugh along the way. His favorite subject growing up was history because there was something about the past that he considered to be fascinating that he enjoyed. For university, Mr. Sakihara attended Fresno State for his undergrad and his graduate. Something students may not know is that he was originally planning on being a lawyer, but then he changed his mind. One place he has traveled to is Mexico, and he likes it because, “It’s not the best, but the people are really nice, the food is really good, and the country is beautiful.” by Valerie Carrillo & Yosef Akililu
