On the 15th of December, the semester will come to an end. The semester has been filled with awesomeness, fun, excitement, and joy! Before the semester ends though, there will be a dance on the 14th of December, which is a Thursday. The tickets will only be $3! There will be prizes given out in a raffle and snacks included. The Edison Rally, the Sleepy Hollow play, Nightmare on Puberty Street, the First Quarter Rally, and the lunchtime events has pleasantly entertained students and has given them a break and give them the chance to have fun without the worries of school work.
We interviewed a few of students to see what they thought about the semester. Tania Q., an 8th grader, said, “I think my semester wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. I was planning on getting A’s and B’s, but I am not doing so well.” For some students, the semester wasn’t going as well as they thought. Students might have stressed a lot since many grades are going in for high school credit, such as the algebra and foreign language classes. Many 8th grade students started to feel the stress of 8th grade and struggle of choosing between high schools. In addition, we interviewed another 8th grader to see what her semester was like. Arionna T., an 8th grader, said, “My semester went pretty well. I did much better than I did last year in the first semester. I passed all my classes with higher than a C.” Like Arionna, students might have successfully passed their classes. On the 18th of December, winter break will finally start! Winter break will last until January 5th and school will begin again on January 8th. On the following week, there will be no school on Monday, Jan. 15th. by Araceli Barrera, Kaleela Xiong, Crystal Xiong & April Vang
