Nightmare On Puberty Street is a play brought to kids in Northern California by Kaiser Permanente that has been performed in the cafeteria for 8th graders exclusively last week. In the beginning I believe that we all had a mixed emotions about the play but after that amazing performance it is safe to say that everyone enjoyed the amazing play.
The play followed the life of a group of friends all in the midst chaos and destruction called puberty. The play besides dealing with puberty subjects deals with peer pressure, bullying, depression, and use of drugs. The characters Malika, Jarry, Natalie and Nick. All character have a different background Nick, under the influences of both his brother and dad is violent and sometimes inappropriate. Malika whose parents seem to constantly be fighting deals with self esteem issues and possible depression does multiple suicidal tendencies…. Natalie is popular for developing faster than the other girls and develops a crush on none other than Jerry. The character Jerry is a goof, and lives with his grandma, he has high goals in life and is the dork of the school. In total the play was amazing and offered help for all. by Isabel Uribe Hernandez
